Workplace safety has been a growing concern for employees, particularly for those in the public sector during times of greater uncertainty. The presentation for this event will explore how to navigate the challenges of addressing these anxieties by utilizing a wholistic, multi-disciplinary approach to developing and implementing de-escalation and active threat training programs. Join for a discussion on the hurdles and triumphs along the path to bringing everyone onboard toward effective and mindful safety training.
Presenters:
Alfredo Hernandez-Schmitt- Is the Safety Officer for Ramsey County's Enterprise Risk Management Department. Alfredo is responsible for developing and implementing staff safety training, incident report management, incident investigation, advising on safety policy/ procedure development, and conducting site safety risk assessments. Alfredo is a certified Active Threat Response Instructor with the ALICE Training Institute, an Emergency Medical Responder with the State of Minnesota, and certified in Threat Evaluation and Reporting from the Department of Homeland Security.
Christopher Dirckx- Is a combat veteran with over 20 years of security operations experience in area including: Government, Military Operations, Healthcare, Fortune 25 Companies, Proprietary and Contract Security. Christopher is the Facility Security Service Manager for Ramsey County Property Management and is responsible for security assessment, security policy/procedure development, and management of security services.
