As cyber threats evolve, securing affordable and effective insurance coverage is a growing challenge—especially for local and state governments. This session will walk through best practices for procuring cyber insurance, strategies to reduce premium costs, and what to do when an incident occurs. Gain practical insights directly from the carrier perspective to help your organization strengthen its cyber resilience.
Presenter – Brian Dusek, Director - Financial Insurance and Executive Risk (FINEX)
Brian Dusek is a member of the WTW FINEX North American Cyber team, where he serves as a senior cyber security and professional liability risk advisor. Brian uses his 25+ years of experience as a lawyer and insurance professional to provide creative risk solutions and to drive risk management strategies for his clients.
Prior to joining WTW, Brian held senior cyber product and underwriting leadership roles with Zurich, Mosaic, and BOXX, where Brian developed innovative insurance products and solutions to address specific insured needs within the dynamic cyber risk landscape. Prior to that, he was a practicing lawyer for 20 years, serving as coverage and monitoring counsel for domestic and Lloyd’s insurers with respect to complex professional liability E&O and cyber insurance claims and litigation. Brian is a regular speaker and commentator on cyber coverage and risk management topics.
Brian received his B.A. in History from the University of Minnesota and his J.D. from the DePaul University College of Law.
Brian is a licensed Property and Casualty and Surplus Lines broker in the State of Illinois with non-resident licenses in all 50 states.
